Tips & Tricks for Adobe InDesign: New contours and various gimmicks thanks to Easter Eggs

Adobe InDesign new contours to elicit is quite simple. The InDesign developers have come up with something quite funny. In addition, even a small game was donated. How to call all the hidden functions, I explain in this video training.

In this tutorial it comes to elicit a few features that the InDesign developers have come up with, namely hidden features that also Easter Eggs are called.

Step 1

Let's get started; I want to have a really cool contour. All I can draw a circle and would like a thicker outline. Given me are various contours to choose from.

step 2

We can make waves or dotted lines, but there is not much more.

step 3

Or I grab the contour panel and go to the stroke styles, ...

Step 4

... Click on New , where it can create new contours. Here I can define, for example, how far should be the strokes.

Step 5

Really much choice, I have unfortunately not. We can choose between stroke, Gepunktet- and strip option.

Step 6

For example, we can have multiple stripes create.

Step 7

Everything is quite nice, but since the developers have said, since we still pack something nice, and you have to know what exactly.
Do I make now in stroke styles window on New and give the name "Feet", ...

Step 8

... Then we see the contours Styles window a little preview.

Step 9

What could that be? Yes, feet, I can choose and then I have here the feet. I do not know what we can do with them, but when we need them, we have them with the method to choose from.

Step 10

There's more. Let's go again in the stroke styles> New and enter Lights a.

Step 11

Then I now have a lamp chain.

Step 12

You want more? No problem, we take, for example, Happy ...

Step 13

... and then I have really cool Smileys.

Step 14

Or do I bounce a ...

Step 15

... then I have this striped contour.

Step 16

The final contour that I want to show, for example, would Rainbow. However, not in strokepoint, but in strips.

Step 17

Voilà, here we have the rainbow.

Step 18

That's great! More contours I have now not to choose from. But I can show you more. Among other things, when I go to help visit and then About InDesign select option.

Step 19

Here I just write on the keyboard the word "Butterfly."

Step 20

It opens a small game, and if I with the left mouse button on a butterfly click, I can StickWindow at the position. A nice little gimmick that the developers have come up with. With the key Esc  to get out of there again.
